I'm thinking of renaming my Substack to better reflect the spirit of the writing. Which of these speaks to you most?”
A) Work Your Way
B) Out of Office (For Good)
C) You’re Allowed
D) Not the Job
E) This Must Be the Work
Bonus points if you share why!
And here’s a little more on the rationale behind each title
1. Work Your Way
For people done playing by someone else’s rules.
A newsletter about self-trust, career agency, and living in alignment with your own values. It’s for professionals and solopreneurs who want to build work—and lives—they actually want to live in. Expect personal reflections, gentle challenges, and the occasional permission slip.
2. Out of Office (For Good)
Notes on building a career that fits your life.
You don’t have to quit your job (but you might). This newsletter is about working with more freedom, authenticity, and sovereignty—whether you're rethinking your path or reclaiming your time. Written by a coach who walked away from corporate and never looked back.
3. You’re Allowed
Permission to trust yourself at work (and everywhere else).
For anyone who’s spent too long asking “Am I doing it right?” This is a warm, human space for people who are learning to hear themselves more clearly—and build careers and lives around that inner voice.
4. Not the Job
You are not your title. Let’s start there.
A newsletter for professionals who are ready to untangle identity from employment. Reflections on agency, discernment, and reimagining what work is actually for. Coaching-inspired, personal, and gently subversive.
5. This Must Be the Work
The inner shifts behind career clarity and self-trust.
If you’re rethinking the last 10 years of your work—and wondering what’s next—this is for you. Coaching reflections, personal essays, and practices to help you find alignment, permission, and your own way forward.
Hi Katie - I agree with Liz and like the heading "You're Allowed" (although strong second for "This Must Be The Work"), as the one-liner descriptions are positive and forward looking. Thinking about your writing, I think the best full description is for Work Your Way.
I love "You're Allowed." It's positive, inviting, and liberating.
